Consultation

Prior to your session, we will discuss the images you wish to create. From there, I can give you more concrete suggestions concerning clothing, etc. Start thinking about what type of portraits you want. Black and white or color? Casual or more formal?

Your Session

The photo session can be done at your home or favorite location. Each session usually lasts 1-2 hours, as sometimes the best pictures are taken when everyone has forgotten about the camera. I strive to catch your children being themselves and capture their natural expressions, and won't pressure them into posing or smiling. Small babies may need to take breaks for feeding, changing, etc., and I will gladly allow time for such things. However, please make sure older children are fed and well rested prior to your session.

What to Wear

Clothing is an important part of your pictures. Since your portraits will last forever, you don't want your clothing to date your photos. Solid colors and classic styles such as jeans, khakis, overalls, or simple dresses are best. Avoiding busy patterns and clothing with logos will keep the focus on the subject. Babies who cannot yet sit up look best with no clothing and either a diaper or bare bottom. At this age, clothing tends to look frumpy and tends to be a distraction rather than adding to the picture. If there will be more than one person in the photos, it is important that their clothing be complimentary in style and tone, though not necessarily matching.

Shoes

I strongly prefer to photograph children with bare feet. Their little toes are so incredibly cute, it's a shame to cover them. If they must wear shoes, the simpler, the better.

Portrait Open House

A Portrait Open House is a unique opportunity to provide high quality, professional portraits to you and 8 or more of your friends or extended family. You schedule the day in 20 minute sessions at your home or approved location. There are no sitting fees or minimum orders for you or your guests. As the hostess you receive:
• 15% commission on all sales to be used toward your portraits.
• 30 minutes for your family's portrait session.
• Additional time between bookings for more photos of your family in different outfits.
• Session time preference.

• Leslie Larsen Photography reserves the right to use any picture in any form such as, but not limited to, the use in advertising, reproduction, and copyright.
• Session fee is due at time of session. 50% of your print order payment is due at ordering and 50% is due at pickup/delivery.
• If cancellation is necessary, please notify me within 24 hours of your scheduled session.
